The Municipal Public Housing Company (Cohap) signed a partnership with the University of Sorocaba (Uniso), with the Architecture and Urbanism course. The aim is to offer Technical Assistance to the Regularization of Constructions, to Reforms and Improvements in popular housing and to offer plans for Economic Housing.
The partnership will have the support of volunteer professionals affiliated with the Association of Engineers and Architects of Sorocaba (Aeas), who will supervise the students in the projects, allowing people with income between 0 and 3 minimum wages access to technical, professional and consultations with the Municipality of Votorantim.
The program is aimed at low-income people, from 0 to 5 minimum wages, who already own houses, but need technical assistance for renovations, improvements or regularization of the property with the City Hall.
The program aims to offer free access to information and guidance, so that constructions are regularized and safe for residents.
In December 2021, Cohap launched a program that will provide access to about 400 popular lots to the public already registered with Cohaps, along with this program, this program of Technical Assistance to the Regularization of Constructions, Improvements was launched and Plans of Economic Housing.
The Municipal Housing Company (Cohap) was created in December 1995, since then, it organizes and runs popular housing programs to provide housing for the city’s low-income population. From 2013 to 2019, Cohap carried out 15,000 housing registrations for families.
